-Reagan County Fire & EMS
OUR MISSION
Reagan County Fire & EMS has a long-standing tradition of protecting and serving the Big Lake and Reagan County community. The department's documented history dates back to at least the early 1950s, when the Big Lake Volunteer Fire Department provided fire protection through a dedicated team of local volunteers.
Throughout the decades, our firefighters expanded their training and capabilities to meet the needs of a growing community and the unique challenges of West Texas — including oilfield emergencies, structural fires, grass fires, rescues, and medical emergencies.
REAGAN COUNTY FIRE & EMS TODAY
Over time, the volunteer fire and ambulance services evolved into the professional Fire & EMS organization serving Reagan County today. We provide 24-hour emergency fire, EMS, rescue, and public safety services — 365 days a year — with five Fire & EMS personnel staffed and ready to respond around the clock.
We continue the tradition established by generations of volunteers while advancing our training, equipment, and capabilities to meet the ever-changing needs of our community.
